WOLF OUT! REDUX
only very slightly modified.. the font formatting is all fucked up but it’s just there for funz.
Step 1: Trace your design on Reynold’s Freezer Paper. It has to be the paper with one matte side and one slick, shiny side. You can trace it off another photo, I usually do straight off my laptop screen. Hell, if you’re good at it, free hand this. I chose Attak’s logo, it’s simple with clean lines, but still unique. Also, I just want an Attak patch. Make sure you trace it on the ROUGH side!

Step 2: Cut the parts you want to be colored out with … something. I use a thin Exacto knife. You can use a razorblade, box knife, anything that works for you. If you accidentally rip it, keep the piece and you can fix it in the next step.

Step 3: Iron on the design, with the slick side DOWN, on the fabric of your choosing. I usually use basic black canvas from a fabric store. If you have any part you accidentally ripped off, you can iron that part back down here and save the design. Make sure all edges are stuck to the fabric well.

This is my ironed-down paper.

Step 4: Apply a thin layer of paint. I use Speedball fabric screen printing ink. It usually stays better than other types on paint for fabrics.

Step 5: Apply a second layer of paint. If you have any edges coming up, you can just hold them down with one hand and paint around it with the other. Be careful to paint somewhat lightly to keep visible brush strokes to a minimum.

Step 6: Let the paint dry, then carefully peel off the wax paper. Some bits of the paper may stick to the fabric, just scrape them off with the razor or knife.

The near-done patch.

Step 7: Use a paint pen to correct any lines that bled or where the freezer paper left residue.

Step 8: The finished product! Let the paint set for 24 hours, then take an iron and heat set the ink. Put a piece of paper between the patch and the iron to protect it from scorching. Cut the edges down to a more perfect line if necessary.
